The Cancer Information and Support Survey was a local project run by Healthwatch Bromley. The project aimed to identify and understand trends in the support needs of people, and their loved ones, living with or beyond different types of cancer. -

On 12th July 2022, Healthwatch Bromley visited Antokol Care Home, a residential care home established in 1951 to care for elderly Polish refugees. Originally located in Beckenham, it was relocated to Chislehurst. Antokol provides housing and care for up to 36 residents, including 21 individuals with dementia and six with additional long-term conditions.

An E&V visit was carried out on 28th October 2022 by three E&V Authorise Representatives (AR). The visit was announced and planned in partnership with the home. In preparation for the visit, we shared with the registered manager a poster announcing our visit to display in communal areas and copies of questionnaires explaining the purpose of E&V visits.

On 16th November 2022 Healthwatch Bromley visited Foxbridge House, a purpose-built care and nursing home in Orpington, Kent. Foxbridge House is provided and run by Care UK. In its prospectus, the home offers high standards of nursing, residential, respite and specialist dementia care for up to 84 residents.

On 4th August 2022, Healthwatch Bromley visited Fallowfield, a nursing home located in a residential area of Chislehurst. The home is a three-acre Victorian mansion surrounded by extensive landscaped gardens, situated next to Fairlight residential home.

On 23rd February 2023, Healthwatch Bromley visited Homefield, an inclusive purpose-built nursing home, situated in a quiet area of Bickley. The home offers a person-centred nursing care home for up to 42 older people and it is specialised in supporting people living with dementia. Homefield Care Home is provided and run by Mission Care. -

As part of the delegation of NHSE’s direct commissioning functions to integrated care boards (ICB), which includes pharmaceutical, general ophthalmic and dental functions from April 2023, is the transfer of the current primary care complaints function from 1 July 2023 which includes:
• The process of managing complaints
• The transfer of staff from the current NHS England complaints team to ICBs
• The transfer of all ongoing complaints and investigations (received on/after 1 July 2022).

Junior Doctors are striking from Thursday 13-Tuesday 18 July, and then Consultants are striking on Thursday 20 -Friday 21 July. This means that hospitals will be under a lot of pressure again – especially as this is a long period of strike action.
