ALL STEAM AHEAD FOR A NEW HEALTH AND WELLBEING CENTRE IN BROMLEY

The development of a new Health and Wellbeing Centre in the heart of Bromley Town Centre has moved an important step closer following planning approval.

The new centre, due to open in December 2024, will house a range of health and care service for Bromley residents, including a new home for the Dysart Surgery, a busy GP practice serving over 13,000 Bromley residents.  Having services such as outpatients, community, and wellbeing facilities all together in fit for purpose, modern and sustainable accommodation will be much better for Bromley people and communities and enable services to work closer together and provide more joined up care.

The new Health and Wellbeing Centre will be on the first floor of Churchill Court, which is close to Bromley South train station.  Planning permission was required for external work to the façade of the building and the installation of air handling plant.

Mark Cheung, One Bromley Programme Director said, “Planning approval means we can now move forward with the internal construction work and open the new Health and Wellbeing Centre in December 2024.   We have been planning this building for many years looking at various suitable locations.  Securing space in Churchill Court for the Health and Wellbeing Centre is fantastic news for local people and is a culmination of years of intense partnership work behind the scenes by the NHS and council”.

The Bromley Health and Wellbeing Centre will follow a similar model to the very successful and well used Beckenham Beacon and Orpington Health and Wellbeing Centres, both of which are modern buildings housing a range of services under one roof.
